Day 2 Post Op

Day 2 Post Op

baccafood bowlWibaccafoodbowl2th this hard plastic cone, so narrow and close to his face, Bacca can’t seem to eat from his bowl even though we have it up on a stool. Tried to hand feed him and even tried to tilt the bowl or use an ice scooper but he doesn’t like it.  Must figure something out.

He bit my husband when we tried to change a cone out after the biopsy. He hates for things to be done to him like that. Even when well, he has freaked out when we tried to use a harness😩

Another call to the vet tech.  They must think, “Oh no, it is her again!”  The vet tech told me to back off from coddling him unless he came to me after I said that he snarled at us when we approached him.  She also mentioned how people often want to be left alone when they don’t feel good.
Last night was rough as had to get up at 2 am to give meds and food and again at 6.  His med cycle was started at 6 p.m. the day we brought him home.  But I knew lack of sleep would happen. He’s sleeping off and on.  Vet tech says to let him come to us at night and not to go waking him up to give him a gabapentin.  But when I go to give him one, he is wide awake and panting. It breaks my heart.
Paul is building a stand with an angled platform for his dish. I saw an example on a DIY site of this bowl stand a guy built for his cat with a cone.  Showed my husband and he created it after a quick look at the prototype. ❤️❤️❤️
Bacca finally able to get the right angle on his food bowl with this awful cone of shame.  Just 9 more days of cone and stitches. Go Bacca Go!

Potty Victory
He went #2 this morning. I wasn’t expecting that.  Who knew how excited a person could be about their dog going potty?
