Dr. called today and I frantically pulled the phone from my purse. I listened intently and as the dr. went through what the testing has revealed thus far, I was on pins and needles.
So far no fungal infection is revealing as the tests are going on in the lab – one more week for us to be sure. No bacterial infection is confirmed. I hung on every word and then the dr. said, “Bacca does NOT have cancer!!!”. Tears of joy streaming and after getting off the phone, a flood of emotions came through.
They think it could have been cysts that erupted and caused the bone damage. It is still unclear; however, we did the right thing. The bone was so damaged that it would’ve easily broken badly. We will await the full fungal test period.
We are elated and so thankful! Wow.
YAAAAAAAAAY FOR BACCA!!! Oh gosh!!!! Tears of joy flowing over here too!! 🙂 Good news like this is so hard to come by on this journey!
And yes, the amputation DEFINITELY needed to be done, but thank goD it wasn’t as a result of something “terminal”!
